I was working in the Health and Safety field for about 30+ year's, before that I was an Engineer, working mainly on heavy contractors plant,  oil pipelines and  on prototype highway maintenance equipment. I served an Engineering apprenticeship and have qualifications, in Engineering, Health and Safety and Training. In my work I cover the requirements of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. My role includes giving lots of advice, auditing health and safety systems, monitoring contractors and giving technical advice to large building projects but my main area was giving advise to our Leisure Services. I was also the Council's Hand Arm and Whole Body Vibration and Noise expert. I was based at the Councils main building in Beverley.

My pastimes, when away from work, which I like being, are Amateur radio, computers and the Internet. I enjoy fly fishing, mostly for Trout, I've been doing it for about 55 years, one day I'll catch something!! Amateur Radio has been my other passion, my call sign is G7KHV, I must admit I was not very active for a few years, but I have now begun to be more active, I'm on 145 and 433Mhz but at present I'm more active on HF, on SSB, RTTY, PSK31 etc. ..... and of course there's the garden the DIY and doing jobs for she who must be obeyed.
